WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) was founded in 1898 as the Imperial Export Academy. Today, it is the EU’s largest business and economics university. WU holds EQUIS and AMBA accreditations, which testify to the excellent quality of its bachelor, master, and doctoral/PhD degree programs. WU takes pride in being an international university – its English-taught graduate programs attract students from over 100 countries. Research is one of the key pillars of WU’s identity and an essential precondition for high-quality research-based teaching. This means that the students derive immediate benefit from the strong research competence of WU’s 11 Departments, 15 Research Institutes, and 4 Competence Centers.
