The FIW - Research Centre International Economics (https://www.fiw.ac.at/) is a cooperation between the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), the University Vienna, the Johannes Kepler University Linz, the University of Innsbruck, WIFO, wiiw and WSR. FIW is supported by the Austrian Federal Ministries of Education, Research and Science (BMBFW) and of Labour and Economy (BMAW).

10 years of FIW in review
The Competence Center "Forschungsschwerpunkt Internationale Wirtschaft (FIW)" was established in 2006 by the then Federal Ministry of Economics and Labor. According to the founding contract, the goal is "to create a research platform on topics relevant to foreign trade, [...] to ensure sustainable cooperation between the various projects, research institutes and activities of the Research Focus [...] and to network and integrate them into international projects [...]".
Today, 10 years after its foundation, FIW is a showcase project for a functioning partnership of universities, applied research, social partners, economic policy and interested public.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary, you will find here a review of the achievements of the competence center "Forschungsschwerpunkt Internationale Wirtschaft".
