Statistics Austria publishes newest Austrian trade data

According to preliminary results, total imports amounted to €87.18 bn and total exports amounted to €81.80 bn in the period January to August 2012. Austrian imports increased by 1.4% and Austrian exports rose by 2.3% compared to the same period in 2011. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of €5.38 bn.

2nd Call for Papers for the 6th FIW Research Conference

The Research Centre International Economics - FIW announces its 6th Research Conference that is jointly organized with the Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) Regensburg, the University of Ljubljana and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA KRTK). Theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented contributions in the fields of International Economics (JEL Codes F and or O) are welcome. The submission deadline has been extended until November 19th.

According to preliminary results by Statistics Austria, total imports amounted to €76.79 bn and total exports amounted to €72.08 bn in the period January to July 2012. Austrian imports increased by 1.9% and Austrian exports rose by 2.1% compared to the same period in 2011. The global foreign trade balance showed a deficit of €4.70 bn.

Call for Papers for the 6th FIW Research Conference

FIW – the Austrian Research Centre International Economics invites the submission of papers to be presented at the 6th annual FIW Research Conference on International Economics. The main objective of the conference is to provide a platform for economists working in the field of International Economics in Austria and its neighbouring countries to present recent research. The submission deadline ends on November, 2nd 2012. The conference takes place on February, 22nd in Vienna.
