Vienna 2011 Conference on Schumpeter's Heritage

To celebrate the 100th birthday of Joseph Alois Schumpeter's book "The Theory of Economic Development" a conference in Vienna (Austria) is organized. This conference is aiming to address all scholars interested in Schumpeter's work or the topics they cover. The conference will take place from Thursday, 27-10-2011, till Sunday, 30-10-2011.

1. FIW-Vorlesung: Prof. Fritz Breuss - „EU-Wirtschaftsregierung“ am 19.10.

Die FIW-Vorlesungen bilden eine neue Veranstaltungsreihe, bei der politikrelevante aktuelle Forschungsergebnisse aus dem Bereich internationale Wirtschaft praxisnah präsentiert und diskutiert werden. In der erste FIW-Vorlesung am 19. Oktober um 8:45 Uhr im Wirtschaftsministerium behandelt Prof. Fritz Breuss (WIFO) das Thema EU-Wirtschaftsregierung.

Statistik Austria veröffentlicht Zahlen zum 1. Halbjahr 2011

Im 1. Halbjahr 2011 stiegen demnach die Einfuhren um fast 19%, Ausfuhren um mehr als 17%. Der Gesamtwert der Einfuhren von Waren liegt damit im Zeitraum Jänner bis Juni 2011 bei 63,67 Mrd. Euro, die Ausfuhren von Waren betrugen in diesem Zeitraum insgesamt 60,51 Mrd. Euro. Die Handelsbilanz wies ein Passivum von 3,17 Mrd. Euro auf.
